Melanie Waingarten is an international scenic designer, architect, visual artist, performer and deviser. Her work explores the intersection of art, architecture and performance and the meaning of politics in the context of contemporary theater.  

Recent designs include‘Sinking of the Titanic’in Theatre Pokoleniy,  ‘Confetti’ in Edinburgh Fringe Festival, ‘Peer Gynt’ by Joghnee Woo, ‘Kiss’ by Monty Cole, ‘Red Dots Black Holes’ by Paola Escobar and ‘The Spectacular Society’ by Marisa Osato.

Previously, Melanie worked as a architect and as interior designer. Currently, she is directing an adaptation on Sarah Kane’s ‘Psychosis 4.48’ and John Cage“Lectures on nothing”.

Melanie graduated from Torcuato Di Tella University in Buenos Aires with an Architecture Degree and a Master Degree in Performance Design from California Institute of the Arts.
